Commercial Lighting Control Systems
We design and install commercial lighting control systems for Long Island and the New York metropolitan area.
Stand alone lighting systems can provide timer or button triggered "scenes". These systems can be used to improve safety, provide control of the ambience, or to reduce energy waste. For example in an office environment, near the exit and entry door a single switch could shut down all the lighting, water heaters and any other electrical load that isn't required when the space is unoccupied. The system can be scheduled to warm the water heater or start any other system that might need to be available when someone turns the same switch back on in the morning to "wake" the lighting system back up.
Through integration with a new or existing alarm system, the lighting program can react to the presence of a particular user or group of users. As an example, take a large automotive dealership. The service staff is usually arriving before and leaving before the sales staff, and frequently the service and sales floor are zoned separate from each other. When the service manager shows up and disarms the alarm, the service area lights are illuminated and the alarm for the area is disarmed. When the sales manager arrives later in the morning and disarms the sales floor area, the sales floor lights are illuminated. The reverse process at night shuts triggers the night mode alarming the area and shutting down the lighting. This process provides a safe work environment by insuring that all the lights in the area are on when workers are present, and it provides an economic and environmental impact by turning off all unnecessary lights when the space is empty.
